Pretoria
Pretoria office UV week
A Pretoria office client with highlighted hair needed a routine to protect her colour during peak Highveld UV season. We built a plan around sun, dryness and city water for her Menlyn days.
Client hair history and Pretoria office routine
Our client works in a Menlyn office, commuting between Brooklyn and the east, and had recently refreshed her full head of highlights for the festive season. She spends most workdays inside, but catches a lot of midday sun walking to meetings and during lunch breaks. Her main concern was fading toner and dry, brittle ends within just two weeks after her salon appointment.
Pretoria’s Highveld summer is fierce, with the UV index peaking at 11 or more and humidity low. Blonde hair here fades and frays especially fast. She wanted to keep her hair looking 'fresh-salon' for a family event in three weeks, and needed a care routine she could repeat around a busy office schedule.

Building a care plan for UV and dryness
We wrote a simple routine with her: start with the Brighten Care Set for wash and tone, use the Silk Repair Mask every Sunday evening, and carry Sun Shield Mist to reapply before heading out at midday. We recommended a timer reminder on her phone to reapply the mist at 12:30, especially after days with client lunches or outside walks.
For hydration, she swapped her usual mid-lengths conditioner for Bond Soft Serum on towel-damp hair before styling, and kept her heat tools under 160°C. We showed her how to use the Overnight Silk Wrap to help protect her lengths after long days in air-conditioned offices.
- Apply Sun Shield Mist before midday walks
- Use Silk Repair Mask once weekly
- Keep heat styling under 160°C
- Wrap hair in silk overnight
Refining the plan after two weeks
Within ten days, she noticed her ends felt rougher than before, and the toner faded faster than expected. A check-in showed she was using violet products every second wash, which, with soft Pretoria water, left a slight lilac cast on her fringe and face frame.
We switched her to using Violet Soft Rinse for only 3 minutes every third wash, and made sure she rinsed until the water ran clear. We also added Length Oil Drop for her ends, 2 drops after misting, to seal in moisture and tame static from office heating.
What other Pretoria blondes can use from this routine
If you have lightened hair and work indoors in Pretoria, routine UV and dryness are your main battles. Sun Shield Mist is easy to reapply and helps your toner last longer. Soft water here means violet products can grab quickly, so use them sparingly and rinse very well.
A silk pillowcase and regular use of a light mask or bonding serum will help keep your ends soft even with the dry Highveld air. If you would like a routine mapped out for your workdays, send us a message through our contact form and we can help tailor your Blonde Wash and leave-in plan to your schedule.
- Reapply leave-in UV mist before sunshine
- Limit violet rinse time in soft water
- Seal ends with oil for moisture and static control
- Use a silk pillowcase for less friction
