Cape Town
Constantia evening waves
A Constantia client came in for lasting soft waves for dinners and events through Cape Town’s cool summer evenings, needing to keep her lightened hair healthy and smooth.
Why the client needed a new care routine
Our client in Constantia had recently refreshed her highlights at a Cape Town salon, aiming for a cool, soft blonde with gentle waves for the festive dinner season. She wanted something that would last through the evening without becoming frizzy or dry, especially as Cape Town’s late afternoons get cool and breezy.
She had struggled before with her ends feeling dry and her waves dropping flat by dessert. Her hair is fine, shoulder length and naturally fair, but regular lightening had made it more porous and prone to tangling, especially after sundown walks or when the sea breeze picked up.

Custom plan for Constantia evenings
We agreed on a care sequence to keep her waves soft and blonde bright for the dinner circuit. The plan started with Blonde Wash Soft to cleanse gently, followed by Violet Soft Rinse for 3 minutes every second wash to keep the tone cool but natural.
For styling, we recommended Bond Soft Serum on damp lengths, then a silk wrap to set the waves overnight. On days with evening plans, she applied Sun Shield Mist after styling, as Cape Town’s UV is still strong in the late afternoons. We encouraged the use of a silk pillowcase and a light touch with curling irons, keeping heat settings below 160°C.
- Gentle cleanse with Blonde Wash Soft
- Violet Soft Rinse for 3 minutes as needed
- Bond Soft Serum on damp mid-lengths and ends
- Sun Shield Mist before heading out
- Silk wrap or pillowcase for overnight protection
How we adjusted after week one
After one week, she found her waves held well, but the cooler Cape Town air made her ends feel drier than expected. We switched her weekly mask to Silk Repair Mask twice a week for a deeper condition and suggested she add 2 drops of Length Oil Drop to her palms and smooth on her ends before the silk wrap each night.
Feedback also showed she needed to rinse the Violet Soft Rinse out thoroughly to avoid a slight lilac cast as her hair was quite porous. Her waves stayed brighter and softer after adjusting the rinse time and adding extra moisture.
What you can take from this Constantia care story
If your blonde hair feels dry or flat by the end of Cape Town’s cooler days, layer leave-ins and seal in moisture overnight with silk. Soft water in Cape Town makes it easier to rinse out toning products, but it can also leave the cuticle open to weather changes.
Regular deep conditioning, careful timing of violet products, and a gentle approach to heat styling keep lightened hair looking healthy and luminous even on breezy evenings. If you want a similar plan, send us a message through our contact form with your hair’s story.
