Wedding week blonde
Wedding week is full of last-minute plans and family arrivals. Blonde or lightened hair needs extra care to look soft, bright and even for photos and celebrations.
How wedding week stresses blonde hair
The week leading up to a wedding can be tough on blonde or lightened hair. There are fittings, weather changes, extra styling, and some people wash their hair more often before events. All this can mean more fading of toner, dryness, and higher risk of frizz or snapping, especially if you or your stylist use heat tools in trial runs.
Outdoor photos and venue shifts put your hair in direct sunlight, and the Highveld’s summer UV index is harsh. Toner fades fastest in the first few washes, and lightened hair picks up humidity or static easily. If nerves mean you touch or play with your hair, it can tangle and break at the ends.

Care steps for each day before the wedding
Five to seven days before: Wash with Blonde Wash Soft and follow with Silk Repair Mask on mid-lengths and ends. Let hair dry naturally or with low heat. If you’re trialling a style, use Bond Soft Serum before blow-drying.
Three to four days before: Refresh your tone with Cool Tone Gloss for 3 to 8 minutes, check from 3 minutes if your hair is very light or porous. Rinse until the water runs clear. Follow with Violet Soft Rinse if needed, using gloves.
Each day: Mist Sun Shield Mist on dry hair in the morning and reapply at midday, especially if you’ll be outside. At night, use a silk pillowcase or wrap. Two to four drops of Length Oil Drop help keep ends soft and tidy.
The day before: Wash hair one last time with Blonde Wash Soft (not too close to the event or style may not hold). A pea to almond amount of Bond Soft Serum on damp lengths helps with shine and softness. Dont forget to test your style under natural light if you can.

Styling and when to book your salon visit
Book your colour or toner refresh 5 to 10 days before the wedding. This gives time for the toner to settle but not enough for it to fade. If you need trims or split end dusting, do that at the same appointment.
Trial your wedding style at least once, ideally after the colour refresh. Use lower heat settings for any irons or tongs and always apply Bond Soft Serum as a protectant. Avoid flat ironing damp or wet hair, as lightened lengths are especially fragile.
What can go wrong and quick fixes
If hair grabs too much violet or grey from gloss or rinse, shampoo once or twice with Blonde Wash Soft and condition. If it still looks dull, book a quick salon toner for a gentle correction.
Dry ends or static are common, especially if you’re in Joburg during a dry spell. Use extra drops of Length Oil Drop and switch to a silk wrap at night. If roots look oily but lengths are dry, use a wet comb to smooth and focus oil only on the tips.
Missed a midday mist, or caught in a midday photo session outdoors? Reapply Sun Shield Mist the moment you remember, especially for outside shoots. If your hair frizzes in coastal humidity, keep a small bottle of Length Oil Drop or Silk Repair Mask handy for a quick touch-up.
