Overnight Silk Wrap

Overnight Silk Wrap ritual

Overnight Silk Wrap helps keep blonde hair softer, less tangled and less frizzy while you sleep. A silk wrap or pillowcase reduces friction and protects lightened ends.

How to do the Overnight Silk Wrap routine

Start with freshly washed, towel-dried hair at night. Comb out gently with a wide-tooth comb. If your hair is very dry or tangled, apply a pea to almond-sized amount of Bond Soft Serum to your mid-lengths and ends before you wrap.

Lay the silk wrap flat on your bed or dressing table. Lean forward, gather your hair at the crown, and arrange it gently inside the wrap. For a silk pillowcase, just tie hair loosely with a silk scrunchie or leave it out. Avoid tight ponytails or knots.

In the morning, remove the wrap and shake hair out gently. If your hair looks flat, mist a little Sun Shield Mist or use a few drops of Length Oil Drop on your ends, then finger-comb. Once a week, wash the silk wrap or pillowcase in cool water with a gentle detergent.

  • Wash and dry hair gently before wrapping
  • Comb out with a wide-tooth comb
  • Apply leave-in if needed
  • Arrange hair gently in wrap or on silk pillowcase
  • Wash silk weekly to keep it smooth

Choosing the right amount for your hair type

For fine or short hair, use a thin silk wrap or a silk pillowcase and just a pea-sized amount of leave-in product if your ends feel dry. Fine hair absorbs product quickly: dont use more, or it can feel flat by morning.

Medium hair can take an almond-sized amount of Bond Soft Serum or Length Oil Drop on the mids and ends. Use a standard silk wrap or scarf and tie hair loosely before bed.

Thick or long hair benefits from a larger wrap or pillowcase. You can use a little extra product, about two pea-sized drops, and gently braid hair if tangles are a problem. Never wrap wet hair tightly, damp hair is more fragile after bleaching.

How to adjust if your wrap feels too heavy or too dry

If hair feels heavy, limp or oily in the morning, use less Bond Soft Serum or oil and make sure your wrap or pillowcase is washed often. Too much product or leftover build-up on the silk can flatten your hair.

If your ends are still dry or rough, increase your leave-in slightly or add a small amount of Silk Repair Mask on mid-lengths before bed, rinsing it out in the morning if needed. For static in Highveld winters, a little Length Oil Drop goes a long way.

If your blonde looks too warm or brassy, check your lighting first: bathroom bulbs make hair look warmer than daylight. If it's genuinely too warm, add a short-contact Violet Soft Rinse to your next wash, but rinse carefully to avoid over-toning.
