Colour Steady Kit ritual
The Colour Steady Kit is our bridge for those weeks between salon visits, helping your blonde stay clear, soft and easy to manage until your next appointment.
How to use the Colour Steady Kit step by step
Start by brushing out tangles before you wash. Wet hair thoroughly and apply Blonde Wash Soft, working it gently into the scalp and then over the lengths. Rinse out fully. Squeeze out excess water, then use Violet Soft Rinse if your tone is going warm. Apply it mostly to the mid-lengths and ends, using gloves, and leave for 2 to 5 minutes depending on the brass level you see. Rinse until the water runs clear.
Apply Bond Soft Serum to towel-dried hair, focusing on mid-lengths and ends. If you use heat tools after, keep them on a lower setting and always use a gentle touch. Next, mist Sun Shield Mist through hair for daily UV protection, especially if you will be outside around midday or in the first week after a salon visit. Finish by using a few drops of Length Oil Drop on the ends after styling or as needed during the week.
If hair feels dry or rough, use Silk Repair Mask once in the week after your main wash and rinse routine. For those swimming, wet hair first and add Sun Shield Mist or a little conditioner before your cap. Always rinse pool water out as soon as you can.

Timing and amounts for fine, medium and thick hair
Fine hair needs a light touch. Use a ten-cent coin sized amount of shampoo and a small swirl of toner. For Bond Soft Serum, a pea-sized drop is enough. Sun Shield Mist should be a quick, even spray, don't oversaturate. For the oil, start with two drops and add more only if needed.
Medium hair types need a little more: a two-rand coin sized shampoo, slightly more toner, and a small almond of serum. Mist evenly and use three drops of oil for the ends. For thick hair, double the wash and serum amounts if your hair is longer than shoulder length, and use four drops of oil, working through the ends in sections.
Always rinse all products out thoroughly so nothing weighs hair down, especially on finer textures. If you are unsure, start with less product and add more only as you need it.
Adjusting if results are too warm, too ashy, too heavy or too dry
If your hair looks too warm (yellow or orange), check it under natural window light before adjusting anything, bathroom bulbs can shift colour. If needed, increase the Violet Soft Rinse time by a minute or two next wash, but do not exceed the maximum for your hair type. For persistent brassiness, book a care review for tailored advice with tone checks.
If your hair is turning ashy, dull or getting a lilac cast, reduce the contact time for the violet rinse or skip it for a wash. If hair is heavy or limp, try using less serum and oil, and rinse all products out thoroughly. If it feels too dry, add Silk Repair Mask once in your wash week, and try focusing the Sun Shield Mist and serum on the driest areas.
For issues that do not shift with these tweaks, like persistent dryness or colour that will not settle, send us a message through our contact form for help from our care team.
