Blonde Wash Soft ritual
Blonde Wash Soft is our gentle, low-suds wash for lightened, highlighted and naturally fair hair. Here is how to use it for a soft, clean, lasting blonde.
Step-by-step routine for Blonde Wash Soft
Begin with a thorough soak in lukewarm water to loosen oils and dust. Dispense Blonde Wash Soft into your palm, then emulsify by rubbing hands together before applying to scalp. Work in gently with fingertips, not nails, focusing on roots. Let the suds run through the lengths as you rinse, rather than scrubbing the ends. If you use styling products or dry shampoo, a second wash helps lift residue.
Rinse thoroughly until water runs clear. Follow with a tone or gloss if needed: Violet Soft Rinse for yellow, Cool Tone Gloss for a quick cool-down. Always apply your mask or conditioner mid-length to ends only, never on the scalp. Finish with a cool water rinse to help close the cuticle. Pat hair dry with a towel, avoid rubbing or twisting.
- Soak hair thoroughly with water
- Emulsify Blonde Wash Soft in hands
- Massage gently into scalp, rinse
- Repeat if needed for product build-up
- Follow with tone, mask, or conditioner

Timing and amounts for fine, medium and thick hair
Fine hair: Use a small coin-size squeeze, work in with a light touch. Wash once unless you use heavy products or oils. Rinse well to avoid residue that can weigh down the ends.
Medium hair: Use a slightly larger amount, about a R5 coin. Wash once for regular care, twice if you swim or use stylers. Focus shampoo at the roots, then skim suds through the lengths.
Thick hair: Use a full almond-size or more, depending on length. Section hair and wash in two stages if needed to reach the scalp. Thick or curly blondes often need a second wash, especially after outdoor days or salt exposure.
Adjusting for tone, weight or dryness
If hair looks too warm after washing, add Violet Soft Rinse for 2 to 5 minutes next time, or try Cool Tone Gloss for a short cool-down. For very ashy or dull results, reduce violet product use and rinse until water runs absolutely clear.
If hair feels heavy, sticky or limp, use less product or spend extra time rinsing. For dryness or frizz, add Silk Repair Mask weekly and keep heat styling low. For static ends in Highveld winter, use Length Oil Drop sparingly after towel drying.
If pool green, wash immediately with Blonde Wash Soft, then apply leave-in and rinse again. Always reapply Sun Shield Mist before midday, especially in Joburg or Pretoria.
