Bond Soft Serum ritual
Bond Soft Serum is your leave-in bond-care step for lightened or fragile blonde hair, designed to fit real South African weeks between salon visits.
How to use Bond Soft Serum in your routine
Start after every wash, once most water is pressed out with a towel. Bond Soft Serum is a leave-in, so do not rinse it out. Squeeze a small amount into your palm, warm it up between your hands, then work it gently through the mid-lengths and ends. Avoid the scalp to prevent any heaviness.
Comb through with a wide-tooth comb or your fingers. You may add your usual leave-in mist or oil to layers over this. Always use a low heat setting if you blow-dry or style, as high heat can damage fragile lightened hair. Silk or satin pillowcases at night help reduce friction and keep your lengths soft.
- Wash and towel-dry hair.
- Apply Bond Soft Serum to mid-lengths and ends.
- Comb through gently.
- Add other leave-ins if needed.
- Style with low heat or air-dry.

Timing and amounts for different hair types
For fine hair, start with a pea-sized amount, for medium hair, use an almond-sized dot, and for thick or long hair, two almond-sized amounts. It’s better to start light and add a touch more if hair feels dry after styling. Dont use too much at once as it can build up, especially if you wash less often.
Apply after every wash, or every second wash if your hair is only slightly lightened. If you are also using a mask, use the mask first, rinse it out, then use Bond Soft Serum as the final leave-in step.
Adjusting if hair feels too warm, ashy, heavy or dry
If your blonde is turning too warm, check your tone in natural daylight near a window, not under yellow bathroom lights. Pair Bond Soft Serum with our Cool Tone Gloss or Violet Soft Rinse on your next wash, keeping contact short for very light or porous hair.
For hair that looks dull, too ashy, or feels heavy, ease up on violet products and use Bond Soft Serum in smaller amounts. If your lengths are dry, layer a few drops of Length Oil Drop on your ends or add the Silk Repair Mask once a week. For any questions about your routine, send us a message through our contact form and we will guide you.
Bond Soft Serum guidance
For Bond Soft Serum, tell us where it sits best in your wash day, straight after towel-drying or only on the ends once hair is nearly dry, through our contact form. It also helps to mention whether your blonde goes fluffy in Highveld air, feels rough after hard water, or gets stretched by regular blow-drying around Kramerville, Sandton.
